Positive thinking guards the body against disease
Spirituality and optimistic thinking have a definite bearing on our health and on our body’s healing faculties. Being positive strengthens the immune system, changes our metabolic and endocrinal system and fights diseases. Prevention is better than cure no one can dispute that and spirituality and positive thinking guards the body against disease. What is Spirituality? Spirituality is a firm belief in God and in qualities such as positive thinking, love and compassion. A spiritual person can detach himself from the environment and focus on God or the Universal Consciousness. Spirituality can be defined as an inner path that enables a person to discover the essence of their being, or the deepest values and meanings by which people live. Spiritual practices, including meditation, prayers and contemplation, are intended to develop an individual’s inner life. When this is developed, people appear to have better physical, mental and social health. A spiritual person has lower anxiety levels or psychological problems too. He is also more optimistic, hopeful, happy and social. A believer in God and spirituality always thinks positively. Krishna said in the Bhagavad Gita that whatever happens is for the best and one should accept that what happened and will happen too is for the best. Such thinking is suffused with positive energy, so important for self-healing. Good health doesn’t mean just absence of disease, but also implies complete physical, mental and social well-being. From negative to positive Positive thinking is an attitude that anticipates success and favourable outcomes in all situations. The thought process begins in your brain and the brain starts changing negative thoughts to positive. Research has also proven that spiritual thoughts and positive thinking helps people fight chronic diseases. Lord Krishna in the Gita focuses on actions without desire of results. Positive thinking people say that so long as they do their job well and with 100% commitment, the result will automatically be good. Such an attitude saves one from depression and stress, which, in turn, causes a host of problems for the body.
